shakespeare, anyone?

Last night, my mom treated five of her kids (myself included; YAY!) to the opening of Timon of Athens by the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey located at Drew University.

I had never read this Shakespearian tragedy before – what a great story about greed, lust, money, betrayal, etc (eh, very Shakespearian, I guess…). What a great show.  The production & set design teams did outstanding jobs…  If you are near North Jersey, I highly recommend attending this play.

The above photo is Jessica Ires Morris as “The Barker” – she was my favorite.  So captivating.  Photography was not allowed during the show (sad face) but the theater has additional pictures on their Facebook.

I did take some pictures of the beautiful Drew University campus & my siblings.  Enjoy!

As we walked out of the theater, we were greeted by these happy summer lights!  I want to pick some up for the backyard!!

Happy Thursday, friends!

till tomorrow,

Rebecca

P.S. Thanks to everyone for the sweet comments re: my sunburn.  It’s getting better although my bum still hurts when I sit.  Yesterday, I picked up some nice moisturizing face lotion+sunscreen at Trader Joe’s and will be applying it every.single.day.  🙂

  1. What a fun experience!! Love the first photo. What a great shot!

  2. Bummer about the bum! But glad to hear you are better 🙂 What a fun trip & show!

  3. Wow, that campus is gorgeous! Very different from my alma mater, Georgia State University, which is right in downtown Atlanta.

  4. The ad photo looks rad! I've never read this one–I'll have to read it now. I just saw Macbeth at our Shakespeare in the Park. I wish I could've seen a live performance in high school; it makes such a difference.

  5. Cat says:

Sounds like an absolutely lovely {and dramatic :)} evening out!

  6. What a great time! I haven't even ever heard of Drew….am I that out of the loop?!
