Yesterday I decided to see what would happen if I painted some rocks with silver spray paint.
I love the result. A small touch of nature…(and silver)!
You can use them as book ends, a paper weight, decorations for your bookshelf or coffee table, etc.
The process really was as simple as spreading out newspaper, shaking the can of paint, and then spraying. Oh, then I waited approximately 5 seconds, flipped the rocks over, and sprayed some more. I originally wanted to paint them gold, but apparently my gold paint ran away.
Would you use these shimmery accessories in your home?
Tomorrow I am taking off from blogging. JOE is coming up to New Jersey again (I’m so blessed) and we’re all (my entire fam!) heading to my grandma’s shore house. It will be a wonderful time. And next week I’ll be blogging from the beach.
till Monday,
Rebecca
P.S. That Doubleday Interior Decorating book is one of my favorite thrift store purchases. I’ll show more of it in an upcoming post!

I'd love to see a whole bunch of them nestled in a hurricane vase or mixed with something else in a big bowl. Cool idea!
P.S.–I also like the look of that newspaper article, "Repainting Lives…" 🙂
ohh i love this!!! where did you get those amazing rocks?? 😉
Great idea! I remember doing a school art project in elementary school where we painted rocks to look like ladybugs… not the same thing though. 🙂
Oh … I love shiny, pretty things. These rocks turned out great! {gotta love spray paint … it is magical :)}
Have a super weekend and you know you should keep the fact that you are going to be blogging from the beach next week on the dl … I am starting to feel a bit jealous 🙂

This is such a cute idea! I love silver and could use a paperweight or two!
what an amazing idea. I saw someone take one of those rock mats you can buy in the hardware store- its like how tile is on mat but rocks for a spa.. they used it as a thing for the center of the table. so amazing what people think of.
What an easy idea. They look really cool!
Love this sooooooooooo much! Such a cool idea 🙂 xoxoxo brynn

What a fun idea! Totally adds some glam to an otherwise neutral object. 🙂
When I was a kid I begged my mum to buy gold paint so I could paint rocks and have my very own pile of gold! It was pretty fun.
Can't wait to see pics from your decorating book!
