cute cousins and photography

Four of my sweet little cousins.

For these pictures, I used my friend’s beautiful Nikon D300.

Since I started blogging, I have been experimenting more and more in photography…naturally.  And I’ve had so much fun.  Currently, I only have a Fujifilm point and shoot but I’m very interested in purchasing a DSLR.  I’m researching and talking to photographer friends.  Honestly, I don’t know all that much about photography and I love this learning experience.

till tomorrow,

Rebecca

P.S. With over 1,000 photos from the African safari party, I am overwhelmed.  It might take a bit longer than expected to get them sorted and edited.  But I promise, it will be worth the wait.

I love taking pictures of kids, specifically my nephews. There is something about the joy that a child exudes that is unlike any adult. It's lovely and makes me feel happy.

Get a DSLR! It will be worth it, especially if you're looking to get more and more into photography. I also have the Nikon D3000 and I find it is the most user-friendly SLR. Don't know much about Canons, but from what I've seen, they are amazing as well.

  3. Uncle Sean says:

I'm going to have to start charging you to use some of those beautiful subjects you're photographing.

  4. Oh wow, these are really beautiful shots! I don't know anything about cameras, but the colors that you captured are amazing!

  5. Cossette says:

for your foray into photography, Picasa is a great, free, basic photoediting program for little tweaks. if you go head over heels for photography, Lightroom is a good program. 🙂

  6. Aww adorable kids! I have the Canon 50D and i love it!! It's my baby 🙂

    Lots of love

  7. Your cousins are just PRESH-OUS!!! You've got some great photography skills!! I'm wanting to dive into the realm of photog. too! I'm learning I need the skill more and more in my work!

  8. Great pictures Rebecca!!

  9. Maddy says:

The Nikon D300 is sweet! You should definitely consider getting one. I'm a Nikon girl too! Looks like we have much in common 🙂

  10. Look at those adorable freckles! I'm smitten (c: I would be taking pics of the cute cousins, too! I definitely am sadly lacking in the photography skills department…yours look fantastic!

  11. I am also in the point and shoot stage of photography, but I almost feel like having sub-standard equipment causes me to work harder and take more pictures. I only find one really great shot out of every ten or more pictures, so I always take tons! Can't wait to see your selections out of 1,000!

By the way…am I seeing a crazy amount of family resemblance in that pic of Lauren?

  12. Aww! You really do have cute lil' cousins! So adorable!!

I want to get a DSLR too but that won't be in the cards for me for quite some time. Sigh.

  13. They are too cute! And you should definitely invest in a good camera! Nikon has some great ones out there!

Awww, such cuties! These are awesome shots! I've always loved photography but blogging has definitely fuelled my passion. I shot with a Canon XS which is an entry level DSLR (I've added a new lens). Even though it's basic, I've only just scratched the surface of what there is to learn! So much fun though!

  24. Blue says:

Love these pictures, let us know how the camera research goes, because I am looking to buy one, too…

  25. awww they are all darling 🙂

Hmmmm, too bad the girls got all the attention. There are some cute boys out there too! (jk — do we really need you to exploit our children!) These photos are almost as beautiful as the subjects in real life. You did a great job! I especially love that you caught Lauren smiling! Of course, all my nieces are both beautiful and photogenic!
