a weekend well spent

This weekend was exciting (and non-stop)!!  After weeks of planning, the birthday party fundraiser for Janet Clarke was extremely successful.  My Geronimo Balloon knock-offs looked better than I imagined they would (thanks to the creativity of Phoebe and Abby), we had just enough food (thanks to a few incredible volunteers, and a last minute run to the grocery store), and the event was very well attended.  I visited Eastern Market for the first time, too…and worked for my new friend Janice at a wedding at the Decatur House.

Also, I was able to stop by Fifteen / Eleven, a new paper shop in Old Town Alexandria, on their opening day of business!  What a treat!!  The shop was so very helpful as they were the only shop I could find with 17″ round balloons, which I was in desperate need of for the event on Friday.

I have admired the work of Suann Song for some time now, so I was thrilled to meet her in person, and browse through her personal selections for the shop.  The presentation was perfect and I could have spent 3 hours in the cozy shop.

Here are a few pictures I captured of Fifteen / Eleven.

I highly recommend that all you DC peeps check out Fifteen / Eleven.

till tomorrow,

Rebecca

P.S. Thanks for putting up with my absence on Thursday and Friday.  You are all troopers.  Thanks for sticking around!
