end of summer | potomac river swimming

Thursday, September 6, 2012

I love everything about this time of year. And I try to spend as much time as possible outdoors, enjoying the last of the summer's warmth.

I ended up taking a spontaneous trip to West Virginia for the holiday weekend and enjoyed a few lovely days with Joe and his family. This included swimming in the Potomac River (ok, a bunch of us lounged on the shore and only my boyfriend and his brother swam; it was cold!) and hiking in the rain. And lots of yummy food. Joe's family cooks and cooks. And then they cook some more. haha...

Love this photo of ivy growing in Harper's Ferry.

Tomorrow I have an tasty end-of-summer recipe to share with you all.

Hope your week is wonderful!

Rebecca
