Verily Magazine & The Weekend

Happy Friday! My plan for the weekend? GET THIS BABY OUTTA ME. I’m six days overdue and trying to hard to keep sane while waiting for our baby girl to arrive. If I haven’t delivered by Monday, I’ll have two tests, and the midwives will keep a closer eye on the baby all week. We we definitely have a baby in our arms one week from today, natural delivery or not! Wowza, that’s exciting!

If I don’t go into labor this weekend, I’ll be spending time outside with my husband, with a picnic at the park, and lots of reading.

Have you gotten your hands on the brand new (inaugural) issue of Verily Magazine yet? They sent me a copy, and I pretty much devoured it cover-to-cover in one sitting. Full of inspiring (and insightful) stories, beautiful images, ideas, and even some tasty recipes, I think I’m going to have to order a subscription now. I definitely recommend checking out this wonderful new magazine (and yes, I ate a stroopwafel before breakfast for the sake of the photo).

A favorite feature in this issue talks about money and relationships and how differently two people might approach spending on a day-to-day basis. Joe and I are complete opposites (except for the rare occasion when we’re antiquing and he can’t resist a purchase – love those days) when it comes to grocery shopping, buying coffee instead of making it at home, etc. So I really appreciated the perspective presented in the article!

Other favorite reads (and it helped that they have lovely images for me to devour) include Girls Night 2.0, which gives a few ideas on adventurous and unique ways to spend time with friends (thinking about hosting a book exchange party now), and two features photographed by Alice Gao: The Art of Tea and Les Belles Fleurs. I always appreciate when I can learn something from a magazine, and these two articles teach a little about tea and flowers – two subjects I love!

Have a lovely weekend, friends! Hopefully, next time you hear from me, I’ll be a mama!

  1. Good luck (almost) mama! Can't wait to hear the happiest news! 🙂

  2. So exciting! Can't wait to hear about your new baby girl.
I just checked out Verily's website and am already hooked.

  3. Bar says:
