Style | Comfort For A Backyard Picnic

I think I mention this every time I share about my personal fashion, but I primarily dress for comfort. Comfort AND style on a good day. Even when I was a little girl, I’d go for the stretchy shorts and homemade tie-dye t-shirt with a pair of sandals over almost anything else. And if I had stretchy shorts and a tie-dye t-shirt today, I’d probably try to wear those, with these sandals. 😉

In reality, these days, my daily style usually involves jeans (rolled, because I’m short and too lazy to have them tailored), a baggy shirt of some sort (or maybe a super billowy linen dress over the jeans), and comfy shoes. Jeans just seem to work best with my always playing on the floor, picking up babies, hauling props, styling on the floor, on-the-go lifestyle. These are my new favorites (link below)… Along with my sandals and this vintage silk T that I’ve been hanging onto for YEARS (so thankful for my hoarding tendencies), I don’t plan on changing my outfit much all summer.

I was really excited about the opportunity to team up with Zappos and Born to show you what a day of comfort & style looks like for me! We’ve been picnicking almost every night since the weather’s been warm (recipe coming tomorrow for this tasty pea sprout sandwich). And I’ve been wearing these Born Wendy sandals a lot over the past few weeks, and have fallen in love. They’re perfect for running errands, picnics in the backyard, on set styling, all day at an A Daily Gathering event, etc. The subtle metallic strap makes me feel a little fancier, and I love that. These are my first pair of Born sandals, and I already have my eyes on a second style; they’ve really opened my eyes to seeing comfort differently!

Shopping online (especially for shoes) makes life so much easier these days…no buckling into carseats, no wrangling with the stroller, no pit stops & snack stops! And when Zappos.com promises fast, free shipping AND a 365 day return policy….you really can’t say no.
