Holiday | Gift Basket for the Newlyweds

Intentional Gift Giving | The Gift Basket for the Newlyweds

Last week I shared my thoughts on gift giving, specifically that I’m trying to be more intentional and thoughtful in our gift giving as a family. I try not to give gifts out of guilt or obligation but out of a true desire to bless others. One of my favorite types of gifts to give is a gift basket (or bowl) full of practical things, usually of the edible variety. A gift basket is fun for the receiver – who doesn’t love uncovering item after item from the basket? – and can be relatively inexpensive to prepare! For today’s gift basket inspiration, I teamed up with Safeway to prepare the ultimate gift basket for the newlyweds (or really, anyone who has a kitchen)! I featured items from their Signature RESERVE ™ brand to put together an Italian-inspired gift: pasta, sauce, cheese, olive oil, fresh tomatoes, and a holiday candle! I love the idea of giving this basket to newlyweds because they don’t always have a pantry full of quality items, and it’s fun to help them stock up. To make your own gift basket this holiday season, head over to your local Safeway, and collect these items:

  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Bucatini
  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Orecchiette
  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Fusilli
  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Sauce Tomato Basil
  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Sauce Roasted Garlic
  • Signature RESERVE Pasta Sauce Tomato Parmesan
  • Parmesan cheese wedge
  • Green olives
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • debi lilly design ™ black cedar candle

What makes this gift basket so special is the Signature RESERVE items. These items earn the Signature RESERVE label only after a rigorous selection process. Each product is scrutinized by Safeway’s culinary professionals and expert merchants to ensure that each product is made with top-quality craftsmanship. The pasta and sauce items are so incredibly delicious and are made in Italy using traditional methods. The pasta is my absolute favorite – the texture is unbeatable – because it’s cut with traditional bronze dies to create a porous surface that perfectly absorbs sauce and is slow dried for optimal flavor and texture! I can’t wait to gift this basket to our friends this season! What items would you put in a gift basket? Do you have a local Safeway? What’s your favorite thing about Safeway? I keep going back because the savings are unmatched, and my local store manager is always so wonderful in helping me find items I’m looking for!
