kitchen inspiration

I was inspired by these three images when putting together my most recent Houzz Ideabook, The Well-Lived Kitchen.

Now that Joe and I are married and I’m getting a kitchen all to myself for the first time, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into the mood/functionality/accessibility of my kitchen. I want it to be eclectic but organized. I want it to be full of light, have lots of open storage, display my treasured kitchen finds, and be welcoming to our friends and family.

When visiting friends or family, are you attracted to certain elements in a kitchen?

Last but not least, here’s a little corner in our studio apartment kitchen. I’m trying to make it as cozy as possible, even if we’re here for only a few months.

  1. A ladder for pots and pans is so smart! What a great idea. Love all the clever uses of space.

Oh I think we may have similar taste in interior design. These rustic looks for kitchen are absolutely my thing!

  3. Yes! I love open shelving in a kitchen design 🙂

  4. Love the jars! And really love all this inspiration…the clean, open look is my jam.

  5. Nicole says:

totally LOVE the stools that you picked out because they ADJUST!! we had kitchen stools when we were kids, which were great favorites, but they only fit kids. these can fit kids or adults with just a few fun swivels! and on top of it all, they are rustically beautiful.

  6. Mat says:

    i enjoy anything copper based
