My weekend began Friday at 5 when I handed in my draft 20-page paper. What an awesome feeling! Then, I sat down with my friend Jill and we watched To Catch a Thief {with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly <3} while we painted these incredible invitations for the Faculty Appreciation Reception I’ve been planning.
Here are some pics of the process. Hope you enjoy!

i can see jordan ferney's fringed / ruffled crepe paper streamers at a mexican fiesta! and some miniature cacti like cate had on her coffee table? and maybe some colorful fiesta-ware for cake stands and stuff?
I think this is going to be a fabulous reception. I love what you're doing with it. =D
What a great idea! I've totally been loving water color anything lately. I like the Mexican fiesta idea. Very creative.

I loved this idea Becca! It was such a fun relaxing night 🙂
side note: I made it into your blog, yay!
It's really easy to make flowers out of tissue paper. You take a rectangle of tissue paper, fold it like an accordian, then fold the accordian in half and tie the creased area with wire or a pipe cleaner. Then trim the ends any way you like–pointed or rounded–and unfold the accordian, spreading the "petals" until you have a flower shape.
I love the movie to catch a thief! I can't believe you did all these invitations by hand incredible.
I'm having a $100 dollar Shopbop giftcard GIVEAWAY on my blog! Come check it out 🙂 It's open to international bloggers as well.
