ribbon heaven…

So remember the ribbon factory I mentioned?  Here are the details on 1. how I discovered it and 2. how you can share in my ribbon joy!

1. How I discovered it: Two days before the Faculty Appreciation Reception, I was at Michaels, pricing ribbon to see if I could afford something like Design Mom’s ribbon decorations.  But with only $500 for the entire reception (including food and facility rental), I was unable to afford the ribbon at Michaels (for the quantity I needed).  So I asked around about any bulk ribbon supply stores.  That’s when I first heard about the ribbon factory.

One of Hagerstown, MD’s best kept secrets: it is the home of the Offray Ribbon Factory and their Ribbon Outlet Store.

When I got home, I googled “the ribbon factory” and discovered this news article which labeled the factory a “ribbon heaven.”  A ribbon heaven?  I had to check it out!!

Susanna and I decided to have our last college adventure and make a day of it.  We drove out to Hagerstown, MD and spent over two hours digging through bins of every color ribbon imaginable.  Not only did I buy $28 worth of ribbon for the reception, I bought my own personal lifetime supply of ribbon for only $20.  SO WORTH IT.

Seriously, this place is unreal.  Yards and yards of thick (or thin, your choice), ribbed (or satin), striped (or polka dots or solid, your choice).  Guess how much per roll?  $2.  Yes, you read correctly.  $2.

Oh yeah, and they sell shopping bags stuffed full of your choice of ribbon roll ends.  For $0.99.  This place was a ribbon heaven.

Here are some pictures from the shop!

Some of Susanna’s finds…

No, we don’t have unhealthy obsessions with ribbon…

Good finds = happy girl.

2. How you can share in my ribbon joy: Here’s the address:

The Berwick Offray Ribbon Outlet Store
857 Willow Cir., Hagerstown, Maryland

If you are from the area, I highly recommend checking out the Offray Ribbon Outlet Store.

Enjoy!

Really?! I'm so going to have to visit this store. That, and go to the outlets. Thanks!

  2. Sarah says:

aw I wish I lived in that area! I get that kind of stuff in the garment district (fashion district) in Downtown LA, but you kind of have to hunt for it.
