celebrate | holidays with a stylish table setting

This holiday season, design your dinner party tabletops with an array of stylish props and accessories.
Wendy and I styled and photographed these table settings a few weeks ago (you all got the sneak peek here).  Hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed putting them together for you!

For a kids table, use a fun, bright tablecloth and include miniature anything – painted animals, a teapot, shot glasses filled with apple cider, white christmas tree, teacups, etc.  I think little matchbox cars, rocks, or marbles would be really fun, too!

Think outside the box – layer different shaped plates, rest salad bowls upside down.  You can break the rules and put all the silverware on the left side of the plate, too.  Unless your Great Aunt Gertrude is coming.  Maybe you should keep her setting more traditional.  😉

Don’t hesitate to use food items as part of your styling – the purple tones in these garlic heads perfectly compliment the tablecloth and geode.  And mismatching silverware adds an element of surprise and a more eclectic feel.

And for dessert I like to keep it simple and sweet.  A slice of wood for a charger and a black eyed susan flower head resting in a small white bowl.  So charming.
Hope these have inspired you as you prepare for your holiday gatherings.
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading today!!
till tomorrow,
Rebecca
