A Toy Picnic for Uncommon Goods

Happy Monday, friends! Sorry it’s been slow around here lately…I
was away most of last week, spending time with my family up in New
Jersey, and celebrating my dad’s life. On Friday, it was 5 years since
he passed away. How we miss him…and can’t wait to see him again!

This
week’s going to be a whirlwind of trying to get a few things done for
work and the blog, while cleaning the house, packing, and getting ready
for our first ever family vacation – we leave early Saturday morning for
the BEACH! I’m stoked!

These pictures are from a fun little toy picnic I had with my nephews, Isaac and Judah, a few weeks ago. Uncommon Goods
sent me some of my favorite wooden and crocheted toys and I couldn’t
resist taking them outside and pretending we were on a picnic when I was
visiting family in NJ!

It was hysterical watching my 2
year old nephew Judah wrap his mind around the concept of a “pretend”
picnic – he was trying to munch on the pita pockets and fruit rattles.
And he just adored the fox pillow; he wanted to take a nap with it right
there during our picnic. And that puzzle stacker is fantastic – it’s a
“grow with you” toy and has different levels of difficulty. Isaac knew
exactly how it was supposed to work, but Judah was content with simply
stacking the pieces every which way, which drove Isaac crazy. Needless
to say, we had a blast on our toy picnic! Can’t wait to play with these toys with my little Zoe.

Check out the rest of the photos over on the Uncommon Goods blog, and shop the toys here:
