Exciting Things are Happening, Part 2

Sorry for the radio silence (I feel like most posts begin with that apology these days). Life’s been flying by at the speed of light the past 6 months or so; I’ve been growing A Daily Something (the non-blog side: weddings & rentals) and A Daily Gathering (workshops and dinners), working on lots and lots of projects, trying to learn how to be a mom and balance (if that exists) mothering and work. Life’s been wonderful, and I am so incredibly blessed with the opportunities I’ve been given. This past weekend, I co-hosted The Brand Market with Joy from Mornings Like These and Anna from In Honor of Design (the founder of TBM). The three of us taught an intensive day-long workshop focusing on branding, marketing, social media, and styling/photography, to a room full of lady entrepreneurs. It was inspiring and challenging and an honor to be part of! More on TBM in another blog post!

It’s embarrassing to admit how behind I am on posting here. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while now, the title of the post might sound familiar. This is the part of the story where I share news I’ve been intending to share for some time (and some already know, because, well, it’s kinda obvious)…WE’RE EXPECTING BABY NO. 2 – due mid-December! We’re having another little girl, and woah, we’re so excited!

I waited this long to talk about it on the blog/social media because I had been hoping to do a pregnancy announcement shoot, like I did for Zoe (with Sweet Root Village and Rebekah J. Murray…goodness gracious I have talented friends)! But life’s happened, I felt icky for 4 months, work hasn’t slowed down (which is a good thing), and I just haven’t had time to sit down and put together a fun shoot to announce that our second little one is coming soon! I know my kids will probably be upset that Zoe was the only child who got the beautiful pregnancy announcement photo shoot, but such is life and the luck of the first born, right?

So, I snagged a few photos from my friend Alicia from Love Knot Photo that she took at TBM this past weekend. Photos that I happen to love because they’re styling action shots (and I don’t have very many of these), and because you can see the bump in that last photo 🙂 Thanks, Alicia!

Overall, this second pregnancy has gone so well. I had the same evening sickness I had with Zoe for the first few months, and I’m exhausted most days (but I always did love to nap, so I’m not sure how much that has to do with baby), but I have nothing to complain about. Oh, except maybe the size of my belly and the fact that I still have close to three months! ha! It just keeps growing and growing. I always say I’m going to steer clear of maternity clothes, but thus far they’ve been my go-to (especially the black cotton dress I’m wearing in these photos – comfiest, best decision I’ve made in a while. thank you, Target).

I’ve been trying to tell Zoe that a baby is coming soon, but she still seems clueless. She thinks I’m talking about the only baby she knows – baby Zoe – and always wants to cuddle after I mention the baby. I’ve been extra busy with work and such, trying to schedule as much as possible before December, because I’m planning on taking some time off of work and events and projects – at least the month of December and most likely all of January, too. We’ll see how everything goes! I’ll definitely still be posting to instagram, and probably won’t be able to stay away for too long! I’ll just have to figure out how to manage with two kiddos. How do all you rockstar mom bloggers/entrepreneurs do it?

p.s. Go easy on yourself in the first few months! I remember going from one to two being pretty tough. But eventually, you adjust and soon, you'll forget what it was like to just have one. Cherish these last few months as well. It's all so very precious. Will be thinking of you lots. Hugs, Ronnie xo

  5. Awwww, I have two girls two and love every minute with those precious girls. I bet you'll love it when the girls play together, it's wonderful!!! Target maternity clothes are the best, like you said, comfy and cute! And cheaper than other places. And yes, you're belly gets so much bigger the second time around….don't you think? After pregnancy #1, my belly went flat pretty quick, my #2 no way!!! It's still all streched out 2 years later.

  6. Lisa says:

Although I just saw you on Saturday, congrats are definitely in order! I hope these next few months are as easy as possible so that you can prepare for #2!
