Life With Littles | Traveling + The Comforts of Home

We’ll be traveling a lot over the next few months … Last week were were visiting my family in New Jersey. Next week we’ll be back up in NJ and NY, for a wedding and to visit the location of my upcoming A Daily Gathering retreat! Joe was supposed to come with us last week, but at the last minute, he needed to be in the office. So, I was riding solo (with my babies, of course). I love traveling, but when you have two toddlers (one of whom doesn’t walk yet) it can get so crazy. They seem to lose their appetites on trips and never want to drink enough water. I never know if the girls will get their normal naps (and goodness, nap time is hard if you’re all sleeping in one room). Bedtime is even less predictable…Naomi goes to bed at her normal time, but if we’re all sleeping in the same room, I have to go to bed with Zoe, which means I go to bed super early or she goes to bed super late. We have to tiptoe into the room, and hope Naomi doesn’t stir. Zoe doesn’t quite understand the concept of whispering, and she likes to chatter and sing herself to sleep. Oh, how I love these #TinyMoments. Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing. I cherish all these wonderful times; I know they’ll be gone and in the blink of an eye, we’ll be grandparents. 😉
When we travel (we’ve only ever road-tripped; I cannot imagine boarding a plane with these two little ones), I love to bring along AS MANY of the comforts of home that I’m able. Naomi’s blankie, an array of their coziest stuffed animals, backpacks stuffed with their absolute favorite toys, and lots of snacks. It’s also helped a lot to bring along our Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo and Baby Daily Moisture Lotion. I never know if my mom (or a hotel) will have these things on hand! I love using Aveeno Baby products on my littles; their skin stays so well hydrated and healthy.
I’d love to hear some of your travel tips! Do you bring along the comforts of home? Share ALL your favorite #TinyMoments and tag @AveenoUS to show off your #AveenoBaby!
