Style | Mixing Whites and Fringed Jeans

It’s fun because we get to begin to layer and pull out sweaters and jackets and socks from our attics (ooooh, socks!). But it’s freezing out in the morning, and you want to put on all the layers yet by the time lunch rolls around, you’re wishing for a tank and cropped pants and no tights. I’m so looking forward to full-fledged Autumn!

I’ve been trying to apply the three-piece rule to my wardrobe more and more, ever since first learning about it. Now that we’re into September, and we’re experiencing our first truly cool morning as I type this post, it’s going to be easier and easier to layer and achieve that beautifully put together & perfectly styled look. I love layering whites, and these two pieces are probably my two favorites (not counting my Kimonos). I wear this Elizabeth Suzann Marlena Tank (in ivory raw silk) a few times every week. I love the deep V, and usually wear that in the back. I’m reallllly bummed because I stained it while traipsing through fields of flowers last week, and the green stain doesn’t want to budge.

I’m super careful which layering pieces I add to my wardrobe, because I want to be able to wear them with almost everything. I’m obsessed with almost all of the Who What Wear line at Target, and picked up a few of their summer pieces. This vest is perfect for adding a bit of warmth and detail to an outfit. I’m already drooling over a few of their Fall pieces, and am dreaming about what I’d wear with these culottes.

And oh my goodness, I didn’t think I’d ever see myself in a jean other than a skinny jean, but these fringed beauties from Storets are a new favorite! Cropped jeans are a short girl’s best friend, because they actually fit me, and aren’t miles too long. haha. What are you wearing as we near the end of summer and approach crisp autumn days?
