Wassail is my favorite holiday drink. After simmering on the stove for hours, your home will be ready for entertaining friends and family. I can imagine nothing cozier than a houseful of loved ones on Thanksgiving afternoon, all gathered in the kitchen with glasses of wassail.
To make your own pot of tasty [virgin] goodness, follow this simple recipe!
Ingredients
– 1 gallon apple cider
– 2 quart cranberry juice
– 2 quart orange juice
– 1 fresh orange
– handful of cloves
– 3 cinnamon sticks
Directions
Pour apple cider and cranberry juice in large pot, on medium-high heat. Stick orange with cloves (every 1/4 inch or so). Place orange and cinnamon sticks in pot. Bring to slow boil and turn to low heat. Simmer for several hours, allowing the orange and cloves to completely infuse the mixture. Serve & enjoy!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving week!
Rebecca
P.S. Thanks to my friend Phil for originally giving me his family’s wassail recipe!

I've never even heard of this before! However, I'm seriously considering making this for Thanksgiving. Sounds like the perfect spicy drink to enjoy for a family gathering.

Mmmm, I needed a wassail recipe! Could you do this in a crock pot to leave the stove top free for Thanksgiving prep?
We had wassail at our wedding…I think. 🙂 I didn't actually get a chance to go to the drink table.
Anna, yes of course you can make the wassail in a crockpot! That's how I originally learned it 🙂 Hope to see you guys soon!!!! <3
This sounds amazing, is it possible to give the option to ‘spike’ it with something? What would you recommend? 🙂
Oh, it is possible! My favorite is bourbon! 🙂
