a very happy birthday
Today is A Daily Something’s first birthday. I baked a cake in celebration.
This first year of blogging has been an exciting journey. I’ve met bloggers I now call friends, been inspired by talented creatives, and had a few awesome opportunities. I am so thankful for every single reader. Each of your comments blesses me and puts a smile on my face. Thank you for being out there, for coming back, and for your constant encouragement.
I can’t wait to see what another 12 months will bring A Daily Something.

P.S. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m not a huge frosting fan. This frosting is the best I’ve ever had. I googled “best icing recipe” and The Pioneer Woman’s recipe popped up. Of course, I used it. And boy, am I glad I did. I seriously ate it by the spoonful!
P.P.S. In case you are wondering (ahem, Aunt Lori), I put a circle of parchment paper underneath the cake, which kept it perfectly clean!!

I have a random question as I've signed up for making a birthday cake for tomorrow and this frosting sounds amazing – did you follow the recipe and was it enough to frost that whole cake, or did you double the recipe?

Hi Michaela!! Thanks for the sweet words! In answer to your question, I doubled the frosting recipe. The cake was made from three 9-inch cake pans, and I had a bit left over to munch on! (And I frosted it rather generously!) Hope you enjoy!
