A Weekend in Dallas – What to Wear

Hi friends! Welcome to the second installment in my Dallas posts! Today I’m talking about what to wear. Yesterday I talked about where to stay. And tomorrow I’ll be chatting about what to do.

As soon as the plane touched the ground in Dallas and we were allowed to connect our phones to the outside world again, I checked the weather. The temperature was a balmy 100 with a real feel of 111. And when I set foot outside the airport to find the rental car shuttle, I immediately regretted my decision to wear jeans AND a cotton jacket over my tank. I mean, it felt great in the airplane, but I was not prepared for the heat. I drove my friends crazy because every time I stepped outside, I commented on HOW HOT IT WAS. It’s crazy how a difference of about 10-15 degrees really makes a difference!

I quickly learned that I needed to wear minimal clothing, and I needed to wear airy, breathable clothing. This new silk romper from Kit & Ace did just the trick. My favorite thing about this romper?! It has surprise shorts which equals so much freedom! I picked up this romper last week at Kit & Ace when I walked into the store for a little event and the lovely Kate was wearing one. I promptly found it on the racks, tried it on, and was convinced by two friends (thanks Alexandra and Anna) that I needed it.

These lovely photos are from when I met up with the lovely Kathryn from The Moody Romantic just after landing in Dallas, for a few hours of exploring Dallas and getting to know each other! Kathryn responded to my Instagram post asking for Dallas must-sees, and we ended up being fast friends! We walked all around West Davis Street (more on that tomorrow), and chatted, and it was as if we were old friends! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I love the Instagram community and the friends I’ve made through this beautiful venue. In fact, we’re chatting about the possibility of collaborating on something in the near future! Soooo, standby! And for future reference: Dallas is HOT!

Hi! I’m absolutely in love with your beautiful blog and am so happy to have discovered you on a podcast the other day! I wanted to let you know, though, that the link for the Kit & Ace romper is broken. I was hoping to check in out, but it seems like maybe they changed/moved the URL. Anyways, thanks again for the beautiful content and advice 🙂
