Madewell Styled Two Ways – Part One

Today is the first part in a two-part series in collaboration with Madewell. This project was born out of my love for Madewell and its versatility. This brand attracts such a broad range of customers: college students, moms, business women, grandmothers, those who consider themselves more “boho”, and those who are a bit more sophisticated or classic in their style. There is a sense of comfort, reliability, and versatility associated with Madewell, and I think this appeals to those who shop there.

When my intern Adriana began working with me earlier this year, we quickly realized we both shared a love for everything Madewell. Yet we always managed to style our Madewell pieces very differently. So, I decided to reach out to Madewell for this fun two-part style series, to showcase that playful versatility.

Enter Adriana, a 20-something sophomore in college and Rebecca, a 30-something mom of 3 and entrepreneur. We were each tasked with the job of styling the same Madewell pieces in a way that works for our lifestyle.

Here, we’re both styling the wide-leg crop jeans and the transport tote in petal pink. These are my favorite jeans this summer. You feel like you’re wearing pajamas, they’re just that comfortable. Yet somehow you simultaneously look incredibly put together and sophisticated. The waist is wonderfully higher-than-high 10 inch button-front rise, and flattering on EVERYONE. One of my MAIN postpartum requirements is very comfortable, very high-waisted jeans, and these do the trick better than any other jeans I own!

Adriana has styled her wide-leg crop jeans for a “college-student-looking-for-a-job” look. Heels, a fun – but conservative – floral wrap top, and the sophisticated pink leather tote bag. I’ve styled them for a “mom-at-the-farmer’s-market” look. Birkenstocks, a casually tucked loose ivory tee, baseball cap, sunglasses, and my big leather tote bag to hold ALL the mom things. This bag is really such a great addition and works with any look.

These jeans work both dressed up and dressed down. They suit any lifestyle, any stage, any occasion. Run – don’t walk – and pick up a pair. And you can’t go wrong adding a neutral tote bag to your life, either. 😉
