thrifty entertaining | two’s company

I began my “thrifty entertaining” series back in September.  For those who are new followers or are just tuning in (welcome!), the purpose of this column is to inspire my readers with images and ideas for entertaining, using primarily thrift store finds.  I have shelves and shelves of “goods” purchased at thrift stores (and garage sales, antique shops, flea markets, etc.).  I thoroughly enjoy shopping at thrift stores, and am so thankful for the treasures I’ve been able to find.  All it takes is a little patience, some vision, and a willingness to dig.

When shopping at thrift stores, you may not readily find a full or unused set of china.  Think creatively and remember “two’s company, three’s a crowd.”  I recently purchased the china above, just the two sets.  There may be a time when you only need two tea cups, and why not break out your fancy thrift store treasures for that special tea time?
I have had so much fun putting together these posts, and hope you have been inspired to entertain thriftily!
till tomorrow,
Rebecca
P.S. Wish I could invite each of you over for tea!
the rest of the thrifty entertaining series:
  1. Aw I love this! Mike and I have "just the two of us" tea time quite often, and it everything is that much more special when I bring out my Grandmother's old teacups and saucers 🙂

  2. Yes! I love thrift shopping and finding fantastic table ware! Your blog is fabulous!

  3. I really like your thrifty entertaining posts! It's such a nice idea for a blog series 🙂

Still looking forward to that globe 😉

  4. How darling! We just picked up three coupe glasses-I wonder what sort of party they'd be perfect for!

  5. Aw, I love your styling with the evergreen!
