I can't believe how time flies; a few weeks ago, my sweet nephew turned three. For his little family gathering, I helped my sister with a few animal decorations: we lined up plastic animals throughout the house, placed plastic animals on top of cupcakes (his favorite), and I made these giraffe hats.
I kind of made them by accident. I had been browsing the craft store earlier in the day, looking for paper to make hats out of, but all the animals prints were just plain ugly. So I went to my craft cave (aka my uninsulated back porch) and brainstormed. These giraffe hats were the result. I LOVE them, and I knew I had succeeded in making them look like a giraffe when my nephew accurately identified them. ha!
To make your own, all you need is brown paper, white masking tape, scissors and some ribbon.
Shape the paper into a cone - the most difficult part - and cut off the excess. Then tape the seam on the inside (tape it across the seam) with a few long pieces of tape. Then get to work sticking randomly sized bits of masking tape to the outside of the hat. Add ribbons (by taping them on the inside) and you're done!
Enjoy, friends!
till tomorrow,
